Tours of Sydney are being offered to provide guests with the opportunities to experience the best the city has to offer. Please review the terms and conditions at the bottom of this page before booking your tours.

Optional Tours Program

These tours are not included in the registration. Tickets can be purchased for these tours by completing the relevant section of the online registration form.

OPT1: Coffee Cruise on Sydney Harbour
Date: Cruise available twice daily any day during the Symposium
Time: 1000 or 1415
Cost: A$49.00 per person

A 2 hr cruise sailing by Sydney’s most famous landmarks including the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Fort Denison. Also includes upper reaches of Middle Harbour with natural bushland, harbour beaches and marinas.  Includes light morning/afternoon tea and live commentary.

Participants are required to make their own way to Jetty 6, Circular Quay.

OPT2: Introducing Sydney
Date: Sunday 5 September 2010
Time: 1300 – 1630
Cost: A$65.00 per person
Minimum of 20 guests required

Sydney

A three and half hour coach tour to give participants an orientation of the city. Includes visits to points of interest including The Rocks, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair at the Botanic Gardens (with views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House), the Eastern Suburbs and Bondi Beach.

OPT3: The Blue Mountains
Date: Monday 6 September 2010
Time: 0800 – 1800
Cost: A$205.00 per person

Blue Mountains

Heading across the western plains of Sydney metropolitan you will make your way to the Great Dividing Range of Australia. It is here that you leave the ‘average’ Blue Mountains tourist behind and enter the National Park to unlock a piece of Australia you would never have known existed. Visit ancient Aboriginal sites and outstanding lookouts, examine rock formations and the unusual plants and wildlife that abound the area. From the quaint little village of Leura to the famous Katoomba where you will find yourself looking out over the magnificent Jamieson Valley and the Three Sisters.

Inclusions: Return Transfers, Featherdale Wildlife Park Entry Fee, Restaurant lunch at Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens & Afternoon refreshments at Olympic Park

OT4: BridgeClimb
Date: Thursday 9 September 2010
Time: 0900 – 1230
Cost: A$198.00 per person

Sydney Harbour Bridge

A three and a half hour experience commencing with a safety briefing at the BridgeClimb office Accompanied by an experienced leader, climbers cross the catwalk to the pylon and walk up to the summit of the Bridge’s upper arch - 130 metres above sea level. Climbers are harnessed to a static line for the duration of the climb and are treated to spectacular 360-degree views across the harbour.

Please ensure you have read the Terms and Conditions prior to booking your Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb Tour.

Participants are required to make their own way to the BridgeClimb office. Directions will be provided at the time of booking. Please contact the Symposium Managers should you wish to arrange an alternative climb time.

Departure Points
All tours (except those listed below) will be departing from the Bayside Foyer Ground, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. All participants are requested to assemble 10 minutes prior to the departure of each tour.

PT1: Reef & Rainforest (4 Days/ 3 nights)
Date: Friday 10 September – Monday 13 September 2010

Reef and Rainforest

North of Cairns you’ll discover one of the most beautiful regions of Australia. Here, at the meeting point of an ancient rainforest and the Earth’s largest living coral structure, slow to a unique rhythm found only in Tropical North Queensland. Based in the exclusive village of Palm Cove, highlights include swimming and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef and discovering the beauty of the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest.

Inclusions: Airports transfers, Outer Great Barrier Reef Experience, Daintree National Park Eco-journey, morning tea & lunch, hotel pickup and drop off and 3 nights accommodation & breakfast at The Sebel Reef House.

PT2: Hunter Valley Wine Experience (2 Days/ 1 Night)
Date: Friday 10 September – Saturday 11 September 2010

Hunter Valley

Explore the Hunter Region, located 2 hours north of Sydney, on an overnight tour that includes the Australian outback, history, Aboriginal culture and wine tasting in two days of complimenting experiences

Inclusions: Hotel pickup and drop off, touring, morning tea & wildlife park entry, lunch, wine & chocolate tastings, 1 night accommodation & breakfast at either Hunter Resort. Beverages, Dinner on Day 1 and Lunch on Day 2 at guests own expense.

PT3: Blue Mountains Eco Adventure (2 Days/ 1 Night)
Date: Friday 10 September – Saturday 11 September 2010
Cost per person based on twin occupancy: A$572.00  per person
Cost per person based on single occupancy: A$745.00  per person

An overnight tour is a great way to explore the Blue Mountains National Park and the unique villages in a relaxed timeframe.  Located 2 hours drive west of Sydney, highlights include exploring world famous canyons, great views and unique rock formations as well as the occasional kangaroo.
Inclusions: Hotel pickup and drop off, touring, continental breakfast & wildlife park entry, lunch, National Park Fees, 1 night accommodation & breakfast at Whispering Pines. Beverages, Scenic World Attractions, Dinner on Day 1 and Lunch on Day 2 at guests own expense.

Day Tour Terms and Conditions
These tours, designed by arinex Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), are for participating delegates and accompanying persons of the ANZFSS 2010. All sightseeing tours include informative English speaking commentary and all entry fees and meals where specified. Comfortable walking shoes and casual clothing are recommended for all tours. For any outdoor tours we recommend that participants bring sun protection cream, sunhat and sunglasses. All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If minimum numbers are not reached, alternative arrangements or a complete refund will be made. Places on all tours are limited and will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment and no places are held on tours until payment is received. Where participants cancel their day tour bookings prior to 26 July 2010 payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refund will be made.
